Cassandra was a key player at the time of the Amazons. She, as a princess of Troy, was a key figure in the history and legend of women, in her own right... 

It is from her and her inspiration that these cards have taken their name...

“I am Cassandra.....
I was born a princess... daughter of King Priam and his Queen, Hecuba. My story here begins at the time that the City of Troy was at it's peak of golden glory and power. The pinnacle of its evolution, and our Amazon Sisters, no longer our enemies, were to become our bravest and staunchest allies with the bravest of the brave, Queen Penthesilea at their head..  

I was considered beautiful by all, and it was a maddening twist of fate that sent the God Apollo into my arms.  

This was to cause me great sadness, and to make me look mad in the eyes of others. Ah, the 'Mad Prophetess' I would hear them whisper.... ...and although my divinations were still true, no one would see them for what they were, no matter what. I foresaw the fall of my beloved Troy, and revealed this too... but no one would take heed. So not only did Apollo succeed in devastating me in his revenge, he destroyed the mighty City of Troy too. 

I, with the Amazons and the City of Troy, now dwell in the shadowy Land of Legend...    But it is from this land that we reach out to you, and offer to share this gift through the medium of the Tarot and welcome you into the world of prophesy and portent. Come walk with us through these gardens of Tarot images and learn to use the cards that have taken my name.
